Embryo Cells Set Patterns for Growth by Pushing and Pulling

A really great read of a complicated subject.  We’re all taught that the undifferentiated mass of cells that we all start out as starts to develop chemical gradients that changes gene expression depending upon physical location.  Now, it looks like that answer is not sufficient.  Cells use the extracellular matrix to push and pull and change.  Fascinating!
