It‘s been a while since I‘ve been here - let‘s see if everything still works since I‘ve rid myself of X/Twitter
Good morning Boston
Wow greetings from Quincy
Beautiful walk around Dedham, MA with my dog this morning
An interesting article in the New York Times, albeit a bit light on details it does a nice job discussing some of the big changes we’ve seen in medicine.
Testing connectivity from my new iPad. Hopefully, my new productivity/fun machine … let’s see if this works!
Slept like hell last night, good morning workout now a decadent coffee
Apple’s Vision
Everyone’s talking about it. I’m in ‘wait and see’ mode for a while. But I found this (not at all surprisingly) a very compelling read. Some pretty bold statements (e.g. "To put it even more strongly, the Vision Pro is, I suspect, the future of the Mac.”) and an interesting thought about loneliness in today’s connected world.
Nice walk near Wigwam pond this morning with the pooch. Can’t wait to get better access
Cool, Generative AI will make us more productive! At least for customer support agents… I’m sure this is benevolent and we’ve nothing to worry about.
An interesting list of drinks to pair with Oysters. I’m a pilsner + oyster fan myself….
I know its been everywhere already, but in case you haven’t seen it - Just Calm Down About GPT-4 Already And stop confusing performance with competence, says Rodney Brooks
Happy Friday. Play some video games.
Why not scientism? I’m posting this to read it after the coffee kicks in.
With all the talk about AI, it’s always great to see Fiction (and obviously Science Fiction) take on themes and let us explore what these changes in the world might lead to. Looking forward to seeing The Artifice Girl.
Anyone going back to the office? How are those in person meetings?
I honestly didn’t know that Hold on to 18 had a music video. It was on a bunch of my mixed tapes…. But wow.
“Frozen meets Kill Bill from the perspective of the bad guys.” I would like to learn more!
I mean, sure, we all make too much pasta now and again, but, who dumps it on the side of the road?
Remember. These are the good old days.
This is interesting. ‘Remarkable’ AI tool designs mRNA vaccines that are more potent and stable. Linear Design techniques get the researchers off to a running start for new vaccine candidates.
This is a clever short story. BETTER LIVING THROUGH ALGORITHMS by NAOMI KRITZER. A worthwhile read! Now I have to read everything this author has written…..
Beautiful spring morning
You’ve all seen this monstrosity haven’t you? I know we are all coming to terms with AI, and what kinds of a future we’ll be living in. But this really is trippy. A fake pizza place commercial done entirely in AI.
Gorgeous spring flowers in Dedham this morning - best part of the dog walk!
