Great flight home from Florida this Sunday.
This will always make me laugh, and the song at the end should be a real song!

Dear Dedham Soccer Families,

Be one of the first 250 to get seats and join our main Dedham group seated together in Corner/Endline Section 124!
“Healthcare isn’t suffering because we have a technical problem. Healthcare is not progressing as fast as it should because we have these very intricate workflow problems that still need to be solved. I don’t feel as though a brilliant technologist can come in and help fix that,” Cartmell said.
Lots of great information in this Statnews post, but I loved this so much, I had to cut and paste it verbatim:
In recent years, Walz has positioned Minnesota as a Midwestern safe haven for access to abortions and gender-affirming care as surrounding states implement restrictions. Walz in 2023 signed a law codifying abortion rights in the state constitution; the same year, he issued two separate executive orders designed to shield traveling patients and Minnesota providers from abortion and gender-affirming care penalties issued by other states.
The 1980s need in me is very excited
Love this short article in today’s Boston Globe. My son just played at YMCA sleep away camp, and he’s excited to keep going. www.bostonglobe.com/2024/07/31/o… #DnD #creativity
Flagship Pioneering raises $3.6B in funds, expands leadership team

Write By Hand
This article talks about this paper in which they realize that students who write by hand, either on paper or on a tablet with a stylus, have more brain activity than typing. Good read, and good advice (from the old man with fancy pens and notebooks!)
All the Howard Stern Performances
Some genius on YouTube posted all of the Howard Stern Clips … and I am forever in their debt.
Scared of Fear live on Howard Stern.
I love a Gin and Tonic but...
This might be taking it a bit too far! I might want the book for Christmas though!
Benefits of Lab Grown
I just read this, thanks to this, and I love it. I love the idea of preserving wild species, and making meat more humane to eat!
ETAK
I just read this fascinating article. Who knew that Asteroids and GPS systems have so much in common?!
Eat more tinned fish. This is great news to me, although I do love salmon as well.
I work hard at being calm and focused these days, among other work. And being bored. Letting your mind wander while away from all the stimuli - the way it used to, only thirty years ago - might be good for you
The joys of aging
As I get ready for tomorrow’s day of no solid food, I wonder … is it really necessary? The answer of course is No.
Chicken Stock
I love making chicken stock after we roast a bird. We keep a bag in the freezer with bits of onion, celery, carrots, chicken bits from other meals …. Today I think I‘m using much too much onion, especially red onion that I had salvaged from a cookbook club where I made onion soup. Let‘s see how this one goes!
love this article in the Atlantic …. Thinking about how we all want housing to be affordable, yet we assume we will make tons of $ because of our investment in a home. Great read.
